10 year high school reunion is this year

People who graduated in 2005 at my high school make such a big deal out of this shit.
They made pages on social media and stuff like, that for the event.

I think I'm gonna say pass.

Too many dicks in that class of 2005.

I can't believe I was actually popular among them.

I think reunions are dumb. If you don't keep in contact with them with the all technology to do so, its probably for a reason.

I went to my 10. Not horrible, not great. If it's within a couple hours I'd go, I wouldn't hop a plane though.

My 10th is suppose to be this summer... I've yet to hear anything about it. I might go back, but it's a 11 hour drive, so I'm not that excited to do so. Hopefully I can find a track day to sign up for, so I'll have a reason not to go, in the event I even hear about one.

class of 03. Didn't have one. I've seen some of the people and I could care less. Some have od'd I think I tried robbing a bank (they found her Google searched on how to rob banks) some I'm sure some are really successful. There's a few I would have like to see but the other 400 nope.

I graduated from HS in 1984. I have never been to a single reunion. With one, maybe two exceptions, there is nobody that I need to see again.

Pass. My 30th is this year, but I never went to the 10th or 20th. It doesn't help that the old neighborhood is now over 1,800 miles away. High school was just a blah experience, for the most part, and I have no desire to revisit it. I like the architecture of the old school, but chances are that the reunion would be held somewhere else.

I did some burnouts in the school parking lot, in my mom's Infiniti, 11 ago. It got me in detention and the girl who was in the car with me wasn't even impressed.

I skipped mine in 2008 & don't regret it. Our class was about 200, and I'm still good friends with the people worth keeping in touch with. The others don't much matter.

It was hilarious seeing their attempts to locate people on social media. Urgent messages with a list of people they can't find, myself & the aforementioned friends among them. I'm still local, I see these folks around town but OMG WE CAN'T FIND YOU PLS RESPOND SO YOU CAN STAND IN A CONFERENCE ROOM WATCHING OLD VIDEOS AND DRINKING EXPENSIVE COCKTAILS WITH US WHILE AWKWARDLY PRETENDING THAT HIGH SCHOOLWAS AWESOME.

I heard maybe 80 people showed up.

meh, i skipped mine last year, didn't work out travel wise and really wasn't worth a 600 mile trip to see people I stopped talking to, especially in modern times when all the people i haven't talked to are my friends on facebook anyhow. We're that connected and not talking, I don't need to travel to see them.

I'm not sure they're worth it. And there's always the risk of some of them being more successful than you expect them to be, undermining the whole idea of telling them off.

My 10 year reunion was not long ago, I didnt go. I got a call from a classmate I hadnt talked to in years telling me about it.

I hated HS, and was glad to be out of there. I havent even talked to 90% of the people I graduated with since graduation night.

I went to the 5 year as was my civic duty but that's when I made the discovery that the people I hadn't talked to since graduation were people I didn't talk to for a good reason: I didn't like them. At all.

We were friends for 3 reasons: 1. Geography, as in our parents decided to move into the same area at some point. 2. Sperm lottery. Our parents all had unprotected sex roughly 18 years (+/- 9 months), and, 3. Lack of options. Geography and past parental sex history are terrible things to base a friendship on but I had to see them every day so I kept it up. Seeing them again after 5 blissful years of ignoring them caused my epiphany.

I skipped the 10 (and the 20) because if I'd wanted to stay friends with those people I'd have made an effort to keep in touch with them (as I still do with 3 people from HS). If I can't make the effort to talk to someone more than once a decade they aren't friends, they were scenery. Going to an event to engage in forced small talk with someone once a decade is just a huge pain in the ass.
